Ok. She’s not in Amsterdam in these photos, but she technically is there right now, as I type this post. Also, my mom is in Nottingham, England right now visiting my sister and my brother-in-law. Jealousy is pulsing through my veins. I figured a good time to post these photos of Yvette is when she’s on the other side of the world. She’s physically incapable of smacking me for doing so. Gosh, she’s beautiful.

Because of busy schedules, I only had about 5 minutes of daylight to shoot some newborn photos of Charlie. It was worth it. He’ll never be this small again! He’s absolutely adorable. Umm. I only took two pics. Here’s the best one:

I was one of three photographers at a wedding this last weekend for some friends of mine. It might take a few more tries, but I could get used to shooting weddings. Everything went smoothly and the reception was so much fun! I love watching all my friends make fools of themselves on the dance floor ;)

My sister-in-law’s sister was in town this weekend doing the flowers for a wedding that I was a photographer for. She does an amazing job. I’ll be posting some pics from the wedding, but first, here’s some maternity shots I took of Sarah while she was here for the weekend.

This Saturday I met the Yamat family for a photo session. Their boys were absolutely adorable! I had a great time.

I’m in a Digital Imaging class right now and this was my final project for the first half of the semester. I’ll admit that I procrastinated more than I should have and waited till about 2 hours before class to start. BAD idea. The feeling of making yourself be creative is not pleasant. I have a horrible headache right now, probably induced by stress.

Arggghhh. Fortunately, I felt it was post-worthy.

Today I shot Angie’s family pictures. First we met up at a mini-golf course and watched Justin play a game with little Danny. Then we went to downtown Antioch for a few more pics. I love this family.

It had been a while since Katie and I had photos taken of us together and Angie was really wanting some pics of her with her two boys, so we decided to take the kids out for mini photo sessions today. As stressful as it is to get children to want their picture taken, we ended up having a good time and ended the day rewarding them with ice cream scoops in downtown Concord.

I’ll post a few photos right now that I took. Check back later cause I’ll be posting some that Angie took of Katie and I. She did such an amazing job! It’s not often I can stand photos of myself (I like to be BEHIND the camera.) but her’s just blew me away.

Last weekend, I dove into a completely new kind of photography. I did two Trash the Dress shoots to start building my wedding photos portfolio. If you don’t know what “Trash the Dress” is, you should check out this website: www.trashthedress.com. Basically, it’s post wedding photos that are a bit more artistic and in very unique and different locations. Some people even completely submerge themselves in water in order to get some really awesome shots. There are some amazing photographers on there that I’ve been trying to pull inspiration from.

These first two sessions were pretty mellow, mainly because I’m still learning and need to build more confidence with doing “crazy” things. But also, both brides were a little hesitant about getting their dresses dirty. It was a fun time and a great learning experience. I’d like to venture into some real trashing of the dresses. I have a few sessions planned in the next month or so. We’ll see what comes of it.
