Etc.
I left the car in the forest and climbed down a cliff, scraping up my shins and feet. At the bottom was a large, open riverbed surrounded by trees. There was happiness in the freedom and perfect company. I found a rock.
If I had known it was a wishing rock,
I would have used it in fear of losing something I love.
Last night, I read a book to Katie.
Page 7 read…
Then again,
you might find a rock
with a stripe running
all the way around it.
Trace the line
with your finger–
it must circle all the way.
You have
a wishing rock,
and you whisper
what you want
before you throw it.
I should have thrown it. Instead,
I brought it home to remind me.

Two of my favorite Christmas gifts this year:
1. My Nikon D40x Digital SLR camera from my Momma. I’ve always wanted to get into photography, and now I can! Poor Katie is my subject most the time (I don’t think she minds), but I’ve actually done 2 photo shoots with my new camera already. The weekend after Christmas, my sister asked me to come take photos of her husband’s family. Then last week, I took my friend Angie’s 1st trimester pregnancy photos. You can view a few of them here: Warren Update. I have a couple more photo sessions lined up that I’m super excited about as well. I want to build a portfolio, so if anyone is interested, let me know!

2. My custom designed stuffed gnome from my brother-in-law. He has a friend who makes these awesome stuffed toys. Check out her site: SappyMooseTree.com. She made it even more exciting when she took photos of him in his “natural environment”. Thanks Eric for the extremely thoughtful gift! You know my heart! …as us Reinhardt’s like to say.
I look forward to this next year. I’m starting classes at DVC this month. I’ll be taking a math class and a Digital Audio & Video class. I’m working towards my Multimedia certification first, then towards my degree. Slowly but surely, it’ll happen. Katie will also be starting Kindergarten at the end of this year. Time flies, it’s insane.
FYI: I’ll be starting up a new site soon, so be watching for it’s release! I’m still in the brainstorming stages.
